Bringing more than 25 years of experience in international air cargo, Markus Schmidt leads and develops the existing Air Cargo team and works with clients and partners to expand Luxaviation ONE’s cargo activities. Markus joined Luxaviation ONE from Chapman Freeborn Airchartering, where he most recently served as Vice President Cargo Commercial Operations Europe. His career also includes senior positions at Etihad Airways, Celebi Aviation Holding, Asiana Airlines and Emirates, spanning cargo charter, commercial operations, business development and sales, airline and supplier relationships and strategic account management.
The beauty of the cargo industry is the relationships you build over the years. These relationships can make a difference in selling the right product to the right customers, offering tailor-made solutions. Furthermore, no two days are the same. When you start your day, you can never be sure how it will end. There might always be that one request that requires your full attention and creativity to ensure you make an offer based on the client’s needs and requirements.
Beyond aviation, Markus enjoys travelling, spending time with his family and friends, as well as a good culinary experience at any time. Besides his mother tongue German, Markus is fluent in English and Portuguese and also speaks a little Spanish.
